This is another marvelous piece, originally from eastern part of India. It dates back to 1000-1100 AD. This is part of a lintel once stood at the entrance of a Hindu temple.
This structure features Dikpalas, the guardians of the eight directions and Ganesha. Beneath each deity appears a small creature or Asura.
இந்த நீள வடிவிலான அமைப்பு முன்னர் ஒரு ஆலயத்தின் முன்புற அமைப்பின் பகுதியாக இருந்தது. கிபி 1000லிருந்து 1100 எனக் கருதப்படும் இந்த அமைப்பு கிழக்கு இந்தியப் பகுதியிலிருந்து எடுக்கப்பட்டு தற்சமயம் பிரித்தானிய அருங்காட்சியகத்தில் உள்ளது. மிக நீளமான ஒர் அமைப்பு இது. ஏறக்குறைய 2 மீட்டர் நீளம் எனக் குறிப்பிடலாம். எண் திசைகளில் திக்பாலர்களுடன் விநாயகரும் இணைந்திருக்கும் வகையில் அமைக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு அமைப்பு இது. ஒவ்வொரு வடிவத்தின் கால் பகுதியிலும் ஒரு சிறு வடிவம் அல்லது அசுரன் போன்ர அமைப்பு இருப்பதைக் காணலாம்.
