Agastya considered as the supreme teacher of all siddhars. Agastyar sculptures are found even now in many south Indian temples.He is a yogi, by his devotion to lord Shiva, attained the highest form of respect in Hindu priesthood. Agastya is identified by his bearded, corpulent figure and the water vessel that he holds.This sculpture is now featured in the South East Asian collection section in the Victoria and Albert Museum. This sculpture identified as a 7th Century work is originally found in Java, Indonesia. It is made of Volcanic stone.
அகஸ்தியர் சிற்பம். இது இந்தோனீசியாவின் ஜாவா தீவிலிருந்து கொண்டுவரப்பட்டது. 7ம் நூற்றாண்டைச் சேர்ந்ததாகக் கருதப்படும் இது ஜாவா தீவுகளுக்கே உரிய பூமி அமைப்பான எரிமலைக் கற்களைக் கொண்டு உருவாக்கப்பட்ட சிற்பம். சித்தர்களின் குருவாகக் கருதப்படுபவர் இவர். இந்தியாவின் தென்னிந்திய கோயில்களில் மிகப் பரவலாக அகஸ்தியர் சிற்பங்களைக் காண முடியும். இந்தச் சிற்பம் இங்கிலாந்தில் உள்ள விக்டோரியா அண்ட் ஆல்பர்ட் அருங்காட்சியகத்தில் தென்கிழக்காசிய சேகரிப்புக்கள் பகுதியில் காட்சிக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
